RAF MILDENHALL, England -- Fun was the name of the game at the Day for Kids Sept. 15 at the RAF Mildenhall Youth Center. Five hundred children and parents attended the celebrations, held from noon to 4 p.m., and joined in games including three-legged races, sack races, soccer games and family flag football.

Children were also able to ride on homemade go karts in the gym, play on various inflatables, including bouncy castles, gladiator challenge and bungee run, as well as a surf board ride. There was also a dunk tank, face painting and tattoos.

The fire department brought Sparky to join in the events and allowed children to climb on, and sit in their fire truck. There was also a HUMVEE, brought by 100th Security Forces Squadron, who also gave a military working dog demonstration.

Volunteers from the youth center helped with the events throughout the afternoon, and 10 volunteers from the FLAME Keystone Club (a teen leadership program) also helped with various activities.
