Col. Christopher J. Kulas is the commander of the 100th Air Refueling Wing, Royal Air Force Mildenhall, England, supporting four USAF MAJCOM flying programs and more than 16,800 military, civilian, dependent, and retiree personnel. With 15 KC-135 aircraft, the wing is the only permanently assigned air refueling operation in the European theater.
After graduating from the United States Air Force Academy in 1989, Colonel Kulas attended pilot training at Williams Air Force Base, Arizona. He has since served as an instructor pilot in the KC-135, EC-135 and C-17 aircraft and is a command pilot with more than 3,500 flying hours.Colonel Kulas has had four overseas tours, including studying in the Czech Republic as an Olmsted Scholar and commanding the 728th Air Mobility Squadron Incirlik Air Base, Turkey. Prior to his current assignment, he served as Operations Group Commander, 379th Air Expeditionary Wing, Southwest Asia.
