The 100th Air Refueling Wing (ARW) is a large, diverse organization which conducts air refueling and combat support operations throughout the European and African areas of responsibility. Located at RAF Mildenhall in the United Kingdom, the wing directs reception and mobilizes for contingency operations. The 100th ARW refuels U.S. and partner nation military aircraft over a span of more than 20 million square miles using its 15 assigned KC-135 Stratotankers. The wing further supports more than 10,000 military, civilian, dependent and retiree personnel, including 3rd Air Force and four associated partner units.
U.S. Air Forces in Europe, with headquarters at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, is a major command of the U.S. Air Force. It is also the air component of the U.S. European Command, a Department of Defense unified command. |

The KC-135 Stratotanker's principal mission is air refueling. This unique asset greatly enhances the Air Force's capability to accomplish its primary missions of Global Reach and Global Power. It also provides aerial refueling support to Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps aircraft, as well as aircraft of allied nations. The KC-135 is also capable of transporting litter and ambulatory patients using patient support pallets during aeromedical evacuations.
The RC-135V/W Rivet Joint reconnaissance aircraft supports theater and national level consumers with near real time on-scene intelligence collection, analysis and dissemination capabilities.

The MC-130H Combat Talon II provides infiltration, exfiltration and resupply of special operations forces and equipment in hostile or denied territory. Secondary missions include psychological operations and helicopter air refueling.
The MC-130P Combat Shadow flies clandestine or low-visibility, single or multi-ship low-level missions intruding politically sensitive or hostile territory to provide air refueling for special operations helicopters. The MC-130P primarily flies missions at night to reduce probability of visual acquisition and intercept by airborne threats. Secondary mission capabilities may include airdrop of leaflets, small special operations teams, bundles and combat rubber raiding craft, as well as night vision goggles, takeoff and landing procedures and in-flight refueling as a receiver.
