C-5M Super Galaxy makes historic stop at RAF Mildenhall
RAF MILDENHALL, England – A C-5M Super Galaxy (front) receives fuel here en route back to the United States after completing a mission to Afghanistan. The aircraft, based at Dover Air Force Base, Del., is one of three in the Air Force’s inventory, and has only been flying operational missions since January. The C-5M is essentially a C-5B Galaxy with newer engines, a new computer system and other upgrades. This is the first time a Super Galaxy has stopped at RAF Mildenhall while completing an operational mission. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Austin M. May)
