About 40 people ran in a 5K fun-run March 17 at RAF Mildenhall commemorating this year's Women's History Month theme of "Generations of Women Moving History Forward."

Though most of Saturday's runners were women, several men and children also participated.

The winners were separated into three categories: men, women, and children.
The women's category was swept by three members of the Liberty Long Striders running club from RAF Lakenheath. Dee Steel, the guest speaker for this month's Women's History Luncheon on RAF Lakenheath, took first place.

"It helps get the word out about the running club," she said.

The winners of the children's category were more than casual acquaintances.
Brandon Dzubilo, 13, placed first followed by his younger brother Gary, 9, in second, and his 7-year-old sister Eryn in third.

The Dzubilo trio set the pace for their father, 100th Mission Support Group Commander Lt. Col. Gary Dzubilo.

Colonel Dzubilo finished the race while pushing his youngest daughter Emily, who turned 1 March 28, in her stroller. Duane, the second oldest child in the Dzubilo clan joined his sisters, brothers, and father that day running the 5K. Colonel Dzubilo said the kids love running, and it was a good opportunity for family fun.

Tech. Sgt. Ronda Betterton, co-chair for the Women's History Month Planning Committee, said that the event was a success and the only challenge for the committee in hosting the fun-run was getting the word out.
