AIR FORCE FITNESS ASSESSMENT

The Air Force Fitness Program goal is to motivate Airmen to participate in a year-round physical conditioning program that emphasizes total fitness, to include proper aerobic conditioning, strength and flexibility training, and healthy eating. Health benefits from an active lifestyle will increase productivity, optimize health and decrease absenteeism while maintaining a higher level of readiness.

AIR FORCE YOUTH CAMPING PROGRAM

The Air Force hosts a number of camps held around the country for military connected youth and their families to provide a fun and safe camping experiences. 4-H programs, work together with military services will host a variety of camping experiences.

AIR FORCE YOUTH PROGRAMS

Youth and Teen Centers offer a wide range of educationally enhanced programs, instructional classes and events, providing a safe and fun environment supervised by caring and well-trained staff. We are also an affiliate of Boys & Girls Club of America and 4-H Club and as such are able to provide great additional programs at your installation.

FIT FAMILY

FitFamily is a web based goal incentive program offered by the Air Force Child/Youth Programs (CYP) and fitness centers to promote the importance of healthy lifestyle choices and encourage Air Force Families to be active together.

FITNESS COMPETITIONS

The fitness centers on RAF Mildenhall offer fitness competitions throughout the year open to Airmen, their dependents and Department of Defense personnel.

FUN RUNS/SPORTS DAYS

Team Mildenhall hosts monthly fun runs to promote exercise and friendly competition. Once a year, Team Mildenhall also hosts the Marauder Melee, a sports day open to all ranks to promote esprit de corps.

HEALTH PROMOTION

The Health Promotion Office provides information and education in physical fitness, nutrition and tobacco cessation. Education classes include Better Body Better Life, Run Well Program which helps people improve their PT times, cooking demonstrations and tobacco cessation classes for those wanting to quit smoking. We also support monthly observations, attend health fairs, and can brief squadrons and groups on different health topics.

INTRAMURAL SPORTS LEAGUES

The intramural program is recreational in nature. The installation commander determines participation which may include active duty, full time Guardsmen and Reservists assigned to base units, adult family members (18 years or older), Department of Defense (DoD) civilians (including NAF employees), base contract personnel and active duty foreign nationals. Active duty military personnel always have first priority in intramural sports participation (follow eligibility criteria established in AFI 34-262). Other categories of customers may participate in the intramural program if their participation is needed to offer a particular program. Sports programs should include individual and team sports for men and women as well as co-ed teams where possible.
