ALCOHOL AND DRUG PREVENTION AND TREATMENT PROGRAM (ADAPT)

ADAPT offers various services for active duty service members to include evaluations, education and prevention briefings and treatment for alcohol/drugs (intensive education, outpatient, intensive outpatient and inpatient). Additionally, ADAPT supports Air Force responsible drinking programs, commanders calls and supportive presentations. ADAPT does not treat dependents, retirees (VA) or contractors. Anyone fitting into the aforementioned categories will be seen on a space available basis for a one time evaluation and referred to an off base treatment facility as needed.

AIR FORCE AID SOCIETY

The Air Force Aid Society is the official charity of the U.S. Air Force. It promotes the Air Force mission by helping "to relieve distress of Air Force members and their families and assisting them to finance their education." It is rooted in the original Army Air Corps and the World War II Army Air Forces, whose members wanted to "take care of their own." Through the years, AFAS has become increasingly effective in helping individuals with personal emergencies-- as well as extremely useful when used by commanders to help solve personnel problems in their units.

The Airman and Family Readiness Center offers multiple counseling services for issues such as financial, family, career, transition assistance and benefits, and personal and work life consultation.

DEPLOYMENT READINESS AND SUSTAINMENT

The Airman and Family Readiness Center's mission is to offer pre-deployment, sustainment, and reintegration services that provide information, improve skills by fostering competencies and coping skills, and offer support and assistance that will help personnel and their families deal with the demands of the expeditionary military mission and their family responsibilities.

DISASTER MENTAL HEALTH

Disaster Mental Health (DMH) is a coordinated response initiated by your leadership.  Once activated the DMH team engages in the provision of services either before or after an exposure to a potentially traumatic event (natural disasters, terrorist events, suicides, death - either accidental or intentional).  DMH team members include professionals from Mental Health, Airman Family Readiness Center and the Chapel.  The multi disciplinary team is composed of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, mental health technicians, chaplains, chaplain assistants, counselors and others as needed.

The Exceptional Family Member Program works with military families with special needs to address their unique needs throughout the assignment process and after families have settled into their new installation.

FAMILY ADVOCACY

Family advocacy is a secondary prevention counseling services designed to provide psychosocial assessments and therapeutic interventions to families at risk for maltreatment where there is no open maltreatment record and the family is not eligible for the New Parent Support Program. Family Advocacy is responsible for the Family Outreach Program, the New Parent Support Program and the Maltreatment Program. Additionally, Family Advocacy offers anger management classes, stress management classes, relationship enhancement classes, home visitation for expecting parents, and  family violence reporting via an unrestricted report or a restricted report and Family Advocacy Strength-Based Therapy Services.

GIVE PARENTS A BREAK

A program designed to give parents a break from stress due to deployments by offering free child care services provided by the youth center and child development center. To obtain a voucher contact the Airman and Family Readiness Center.

KEY SPOUSE PROGRAM

The Key Spouse Program is an official unit/family program designed to enhance readiness and establish a sense of Air Force community. It is a commander's program that promotes partnerships with unit leadership, volunteer Key Spouses appointed by the commander, families, the Airman & Family Readiness Center and other community and helping agencies. The program has been standardized across the Air Force to address the needs of all military families with special emphasis on support to families across the deployment cycle.

MENTAL HEALTH

The mental health clinic provides various services for active duty service members to include mental health assessments (command directed evaluations and fitness-for-duty determinations), solution-focused individual and couples therapy, medication evaluation and management and consultations/initial evaluations for dependents and children on a space available basis.

MILITARY FAMILY LIFE CONSULTANTS

Provide broad-ranging counseling services to military personnel and their dependents. Services are provided confidentially with the exception of duty-to-warn situations. There are currently five MFLCs available on RAF Mildenhall. Three are dedicated to working with adults and two (CYB) are dedicated to providing services to youth.

PERSONAL FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Many times, financial difficulties are a direct result of a lack of knowledge and experience, especially for younger Airmen. Uninformed decisions made today can have a significant impact on an Airman's current readiness posture and impact his or her financial well-being in the future. Local Airman and Family Readiness Centers have services, resources and educational tools designed to enhance financial readiness and money-management skills.

SEXUAL ASSAULT PREVENTION and RESPONSE

The SAPR Program reinforces the Air Force's commitment to prevention through the development, implementation and assessment of policies and programs to prevent and respond to sexual assault.

Furthermore, the Air Force is committed to introducing comprehensive prevention initiatives with continued focus on building both individual and community collaboration to promote social change.

The Air Force's goal is to provide exemplary support throughout victim reporting, response, victim advocacy, investigations and offender accountability when a sexual assault occurs.
