Slow your roll

Motorists are reminded that increasing stopping distance, especially during adverse weather conditions, is a good idea. Motorists can cut their stopping distance by 25 percent when dropping their speed from 60 to 50 mph and by more than 50 percent when dropping from 60 to 40 mph. In addition to speed, there are many variables, such as weather and tire conditions, that can affect stopping distances. (Graphic illustrations courtesy of the U.K. Highway Code)
