Public Perception Highlights from recent survey released

A 1,200 person phone survey was accomplished asking specific questions to determine the Air Force's public perception. The survey results indicate that the public perception of the Air Force is positive. 

The Air Force was viewed ahead of the other services (11% above any other) when participants were asked which service will be most important in future wars.
42% strongly agreed or agreed with Air Force
31% Marines
27% Army
26% Navy

The Air Force also scored well when asked questions on job performance and confidence.
90% say, "When America calls on the Air Force, the Air Force does the job"
89% say, "I have great confidence in the Air Force"
81% say, "The U.S. Air Force is the strongest air force in the world."
79% say, "Service in the AF is an honorable profession I'd recommend for a young person"

Participants were somewhat even when asked if the Air Force received enough funding.

35% disagree
27% neutral

Participants ranked the AF no.1 in terms of "professional", "skilled", and "technology" when asked, "What service do you think of first when you hear _____?" for 20 terms/phrases

Separately, respondents were asked, for the same 20 terms/phrases, "To what extent does _____ describe the Air Force on a 10-point scale, where 1 doesn't describe at all and 10 describes very well" 

Top 4: "technology" (9.0), "dedicated" (8.9), "skilled" (8.9), "protects homeland" (8.7)
Warrior ethos: public perceives Air Force as "warriors" (8.0), "brave" (8.7), "powerful" (8.7) 

Low negative perceptions: "war atrocities" (4.7), "scandal" (3.9)
