RAF Mildenhall held a "Walk for Hope" event Sept. 14 at Heritage Park's running track to help raise money for the Women of Hope project.

The project raises money to help Afghan women widowed through the war on terror. It uses 100 percent of its funds to educate the women on how to make and sell goods, and teaches them hydroponic gardening so they can grow their own crops and food.

People from the 100th Comptroller Squadron's key spouses group organized the event.
About 20 volunteers from 100th CPTS helped during the event, and 50 people walked and ran round the track.

More than $1,700 was raised for the project.
