Barrier Maintenance
Staff Sgt. Vincent Rizzo, 100th Civil Engineer Squadron Power Production, checks the dials on a generator and records the information on a checklist during the monthly check of a generator. Power production technicians are also responsible for maintaining 20 mobile generators. The generators are run for one hour each month under load bank (artificial load) and a yearly inspection is performed, when the oil and filters are changed and an electrical inspection is done. Technicians from barrier maintenance and power production work closely together; the only difference is that barrier maintenance personnel work on aircraft arresting systems and the power production staff works on generators.
