RAF MILDENHALL, England -- Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David L. Goldfein and Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Kaleth O. Wright visited Team Mildenhall Dec. 26, 2018.

Goldfein and Wright stopped at RAF Mildenhall after visiting Airmen deployed in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility. They met with Airmen throughout the base to discuss their contributions to the mission and hear how Air Force leadership can better support them.

“We have a huge responsibility to take care of each and every one of you,” Wright said. “But I ask to make it a shared responsibility—take care of each other, and make sure you take care of yourselves.”

During the visit, Goldfein and Wright toured different units, such as the command post, the fire department and the air traffic control tower. They also stated the importance Airmen have on protecting the nation and allies.

“Evil exists in the world, and someone has to stand between the wolf and the sheep,” Goldfein said. “That’s you and me. Thank you for doing our nation’s business and making those sacrifices. There’s never been a more important time to do it.”

During their visit, Goldfein and Wright also had lunch with Airmen at the dining facility to thank them for their service and answer questions.

“Thank you for your service, it means a lot for us to be able to come through here to wish you a happy holidays and to answer any questions you guys might have,” Wright said.
