RAF MILDENHALL, England -- RAF Mildenhall hosted a Leadercast event on base for Airmen to enhance their leadership skills March 14, 2019.

The goal of Leadercast is to improve people’s leadership skills lines of with the Air Force’s goals making it the most lethal, ready and combat effective fighting force in the world.

This was the second time the event was held at RAF Mildenhall, and this year’s theme was on women leaders. It included messages from human rights activists, CEOs and motivational speakers.

“Leadercast is an international forum where well-known speakers make presentations on key subjects to help leadership development,” said Jack Sweet, community support coordinator at RAF Mildenhall.

The idea to bring Leadercast to RAF Mildenhall came from Chief Master Sgt. Tracy Wallace, 100th Force Support Squadron superintendent, last year.

“I’m hoping everyone walks away from the event with a higher level of empathy because humility and empathy are hallmarks of leadership,” Wallace said.

There were more than 60 Airmen at the event, which included skits by RAF Mildenhall’s Diversity and Inclusion Team.

“Leadercast helps you to bring back your purpose so you can be a better leader, which in turn helps to better the mission,” said Tech. Sgt. Joni Williams, 100th Comptroller Squadron deputy dispersing officer. “The most important take away was to find yourself and be able to be whom you are while at work, so you can motivate others and be more creative and enjoy your work.”
