Airmen with the Romanian air force visited the 100th Air Refueling Wing KC-135 Stratotanker “Sly Fox” and crew from RAF Mildenhall, England, during refueling training with Romanian F-16s in Bucharest March 11-15, 2019.

The visitors toured the jet, discussed the operational duties of each crew member and witnessed an air refueling sortie over the skies of Romania.

“This was a great chance for us to come together and really help strengthen what continues to be a healthy alliance,” said U.S. Air Force Maj. Benjamin Hurlburt, 351st Air Refueling Squadron aircraft commander. “Our Romanian friends have been an awesome crew to work alongside this week, and I know I’ve learned a lot from them as well.”

Members of a Romanian air force public affairs team took part in a training flight March 12, and were provided with the opportunity to capture photos and videos of their air force’s F-16s being refueled by the “Sly Fox.”

“We are all very grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such professional Airmen from RAF Mildenhall,” said Romanian air force Capt. Ovidiu Dobos. “It’s not every day you are able to discuss strategy with world-class counterparts, so I will definitely take what I learned today and pass it along.”
