ROYAL AIR FORCE MILDENHALL, England -- U.S. Airmen from the 100th Maintenance Squadron at Royal Air Force Mildenhall, worked together to maintain the boom and drogue of a KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft, Oct. 29.
To maintain 24-hour operations, Airmen must drain the drogue of fuel, clean it and replace it with the boom nozzle for future refueling operations. Additional maintenance includes inspecting the engines of the aircraft for foreign objects or malfunctions.
