With the 2013 Air Force Assistance Fund campaign complete, there's more than $80,000 available to Airmen who need it, thanks to donations from RAF Mildenhall, England.

RAF Mildenhall raised more than its initial goal during the campaign, which ran from March 4 to April 12, due to the AFAF campaign team members and the donators themselves.

"Thanks to your collective generosity, even during challenging fiscal times, we raised 134 percent of our monetary goal - a total of $80,446.38 in support of the AFAF," stated Col. Christopher Kulas, 100th Air Refueling Wing commander in an email to RAF Mildenhall. "This money will go back to our current and former (Air Force) members through the Air Force Villages, the Air Force Aid Society Inc., the General and Mrs. Curtis E. LeMay Foundation, and the Air Force Enlisted Village Inc."

The AFAF is an annual fundraiser for Airmen in need of assistance due to emergencies they could not plan for. Funded internally through Air Force members, the money put in could eventually help those who donated during the campaign.
