100th CES "Dirt boyz" carry weight of Team Mildenhall
Airman 1st Class Michael Sternberg, 100th Civil Engineer Squadron Pavements and Construction equipment operator "Dirt boy" from Panhandle, Texas, uses a front-end loader to dispose of wood in a skip prior to its removal off-base March 21, 2013, at RAF Mildenhall, England. Front-end loaders are multi-purpose machines that are used for excavation, fork-lift operations and general construction. The term “Dirt boyz” is a slang term used among those in RED HORSE. It is similar to a term of endearment-one that is said with respect, admiration and distinction throughout the civil engineer career field. (U.S. Air Force photo by Gina Randall/Released)
