NDAA extends maximum leave carryover

RAF MILDENHALL, England --  A change has been made to Section 521 of the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2013, effective immediately.

Previously, the act stated that all active duty, reserve, and guard members could carry up to 75 days of leave forward to Oct. 1, 2013. This was set to expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

"The revised act allows a maximum leave carryover of 75 days through the end of fiscal year 2015," said Maj. Charles Barkhurst, 100th Comptroller Squadron commander.

"The success of the mission is dependent on the Airmen; this is why it's important for our Airmen to use their leave to recharge and spend time with their loved ones," Barkhurst said. "If we take care of our Airmen, they will take care of the mission."
