A hat-trick in the first 12 minutes from Vincente Andrade gave the 100th Civil Engineer Squadron the perfect start in their Intramural Indoor soccer game against the 100th Security Forces Squadron at the RAF Mildenhall North Side Fitness Center July 10.

It was the 100th SFS who started the brightest and after a couple of minutes had the ball in the back of the net, but the neatly headed goal from Esean Rose was disallowed because he had encroached into the goalie's area. Not to be disheartened, the SFS team continued piling forward and a powerful long range shot from Eric Atakorah rattled the foot of the post to deny them the lead.

Six minutes into the game CES finally came alive when Vincente Andrade scored the first of his hat-trick goals with a low finish. A few minutes later Andrade got his second when an accurate cross field pass from Martin Parker gave him time and space to place the ball past Miles Rodriguez. Andrade completed his hat-trick on 12 minutes to give CES a comfortable 3-0 lead.

CES must have thought they were in for an easy ride but a minute later Esean Rose made up for his disallowed goal earlier when his neat shot pulled a goal back for SFS. Eric Atakorah then intercepted a weak pass from Martin Parker and he ran clear on goal and his cool finish brought SFS right back in the game at 2-3. With the game now wide open and with three minutes remaining of the half, CES's Darren Odey spilt the SFS defense with an inch-perfect pass to Martin Parker whose shot found the back of the net. But SFS were not going away and a minute later Kenneth Gonzalez scored to make it 3-4.

The score at half time was 100th CES 4 - 100th SFS 3.

The second half started with both teams willing to attack, CES could have increased their lead but wasted the best of their opportunities. Darren Odey got on the score sheet to give his team a two-goal lead again. Just as before, SFS came right back at them again some 30 seconds later when Eric Atakorah broke clear on goal to round the keeper and tuck the ball in the bottom corner to make it 4-5.

Jonathan Cardenas, was doing his best to marshal the SFS defense and set up attacks for his team but Martin Parker restored CES's two goal lead when his shot flew past Dawson in goal. Then Darren Odey's shot took a heavy deflection off Vanesa Rose to make it 7-4, but he made certain in the final minute of the game when his neat shot gave his team an 8-4 victory.

The final score was 100th CES 8 - 100th SFS 4.

A good win for CES, the score line could have certainly been much higher if it wasn't for the two goalkeepers who both had outstanding games.
