Climate Survey coming, maximum participation vital to mission improvement Published May 14, 2012 By Staff Sgt. Austin M. May 100th Air Refueling Wing public affairs RAF MILDENHALL, England -- The opportunity for Airmen at RAF Mildenhall to voice their opinions and concerns to leadership at all levels - from their squadron commander to their chief of staff - is just around the corner. The 2012 Air Force Climate Survey is scheduled to run from May 14 to June 22, and Airmen will be invited to participate in the valuable information-gathering tool via email. The survey was last conducted in 2010, the results of which are available online through the Air Force Portal. "Senior leaders are provided with the results of the anonymous survey and may act on those results to implement change across the installation," said Robert Rushing, 100th Mission Support Group deputy commander. "Everyone wants their opinions to be heard, and the Air Force Climate Survey is one way for members of Team Mildenhall to convey their opinions on how they feel about a wide-range of career related topics. The real benefit to filling out the survey is the identification of trends which senior leaders may not otherwise be aware." Topics to be addressed include deployments, trust in leadership, resources, recognition and performance. According to an article published on the Air Force Manpower Agency's website, unit leaders who have 10 or more members of their organization participate in the survey will personally receive their unit's results to assist them in improving the organization at their level, though responses are anonymous. "We are all busy and completing another survey at times may seem unappealing, but the Air Force Climate Survey is one of those initiatives which are well worth the time it takes to complete," Rushing said. "It provides the valuable opportunity to directly communicate our opinions to installation senior leadership."
