100th CPTS preps for CSA to GTC transition Published April 5, 2012 By Senior Airman Rachel Waller 100th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs RAF MILDENHALL, England - -- The Air Force recently announced that it is transitioning back from the Controlled Spend Account travel cards to the Government Travel Card program by the end of September 2012. Joan Causey, deputy assistant secretary for Financial Operations, said that changing to the GTC will help aid travelers and improve the current travel card program. Staff Sgt. Adrian Johnson, 100th Air Refueling Wing GTC coordinator, highlighted some of the changes to the program. "The GTC will have a permanent credit limit, whereas the CSA had temporary spending limits," said Johnson. With the CSA, Airmen had to call the bank provider to get an increase in funds on their cards while they were travelling. "Additionally, the base-level delinquency management (system) will be re-instated," said Johnson. This program aims to help enable Airmen remain in good standing on their GTC. Johnson said another significant change is that, by law, credit checks will be required for new Airmen applying for the GTC. The transition to the GTC is scheduled to begin late this summer. Until Team Mildenhall Airmen receive notification about the transition, they should continue to use their CSA card as normal, said Johnson. As the transition happens, the 100th CPTS will provide training to the Team Mildenhall agency program coordinators. If Airmen have any questions about the transition, they should contact their unit's agency program coordinator. "The APCs will receive updates from the 100th CPTS as we receive them," said Johnson. "The 100th CPTS will work to make this transition as smooth as possible." Editor's note: 2nd Lt. Kay Nissen and Air Force News Service contributed to this article.
