The 100th Force Support Squadron eased through to their third straight win by defeating the 100th Operations Group 5-1 in the RAF Mildenhall Intramural Indoor Soccer tournament at the North Side Fitness Center March 20, 2012.

The game started with the 100th FSS dictating the pace of play, which was key as they were a player short for the first five minutes, and both teams struggled to create any good opportunities in the early stages.

It wasn't until the 19th minute, when the first clear chance on goal fell to 100th FSS, but Bruce Richardson snatched at his shot and pulled the ball wide of goal. But a minute later, 100th FSS took the lead when Darren Middleton was first to react to a ball that rebounded off the wall to fire his shot past Steve Beaulieu in goal.

The score at half time was 100th FSS 1 - 100th OG 0.

The second half started off again with the 100th FSS trying to control the tempo of the match and it wasn't long before they doubled their lead when a Steve Bain pass found Richardson in space, and his well-placed shot found the back of the net.

Just as the 100th FSS were taking a grip on the game, John Bourke pulled a goal back for the 100th OG to make it 2-1. But it wasn't long before the 100th FSS restored their two-goal lead back when Richardson scored his second goal of the game.

The OG trying to make the most of their subs were proving to be a stubborn team to break down, but 100 FSS's Gary Butcher's persistent pressure paid off as he stole the ball off the defense and his shot flew pass Beaulieu for 4-1. Richardson set up Middleton two minutes from time for him to score his second and FSS's fifth.

The score at full time was 100th FSS 5 - 100th OG 1.

After the game Steve Bain said, "that's the toughest match so far, especially after having to play the first five minutes with a player short."

The 100th FSS have now scored 41 goals in three matches, a great start to their campaign.
