The 100th Security Forces Squadron recently announced plans for implementation of the Installation Access Control System (IACS) here.

IACS is a U.S. Air Forces in Europe-wide initiative that will provide an additional layer of security and improve access authorization to the installation while deterring unauthorized access. This will be accomplished by electronically validating IDs used to gain access to the installation.

All authorized Department of Defense ID cardholders, to include dependents and retirees, will be required to register their existing ID card in IACS. Non-DOD ID cardholders will be issued an IACS-generated installation pass.

The registration and issuing process is scheduled to begin on Nov. 14. In order to ease the process with minimal inconvenience to base personnel, 100th SFS has scheduled mass registrations for each unit, which will be released through units soon. For Ministry of Defence employees, this will commence after consultation with the Trade Unions.

Registration hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Bob Hope Community Center. Registration dates are subject to change due to holidays and down days.

The registration process is a vital step to ensure IACS is implemented appropriately. Unit commander and first sergeant support is encouraged to ensure personnel within their units are proactive in the registration of their ID Card.
