Fourteen-year-old Annalyn Hamed, daughter of the 100th Maintenance Squadron accessories flight chief, placed second at the Air Force-level "You Got Talent" contest, Teen Solo Instrumental Act.

Annalyn, daughter of Senior Master Sgt. Roger and Mrs. Nora Hamed, performed "River Flows" by Yurima, and was recognized locally by Maj. Adrian Hageman, 100th Force Support Squadron commander.

The Lakenheath Middle School eighth-grader enjoys playing piano as a way to express her sentiments, she said.

"I enjoy expressing how wonderful piano can sound," said Annalyn, who chose her musical selection because she felt it was the most sentimental song she could play for the audience.
Annalyn called the experience "nerve wracking," but still wants to become a professional singer, she said.

Annalyn received a $100 gift card from the 100th FSS, hails from Danbury, Conn., and has been playing the piano since she was eight. Her sister, 13-year-old Gabrielle, also competed in the contest.
