The 100th Civil Engineer Squadron's recycling center, comprised of a three-man crew, provides recycling services to RAF Mildenhall through three public-use sites and offers pickup service at 80 base locations.

Rory Palmer, the manager of the Recycling Center, said recycling reduces the need for land filling and incineration and prevents pollution caused by the manufacturing of products from raw materials. Recycling also decreases greenhouse gas emissions and conserves natural resources such as timber, water and minerals.

The center, located at building 818 near the south side gate, recycles approximately 50 tons of material per month. The crew at the center recycles cardboard, cans, mixed plastic, paper, magazines, newspaper, glass, toner cartridges, textiles and scrap metal.

The center is open Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
