Several base organizations have banded together to host an Unaccompanied Airman Appreciations Day.

"The event has noncommissioned officers working and volunteering to give Airmen a break," said Tech. Sgt. Jalil Samavarchian, 100th Maintenance Squadron Aircraft Structural Maintenance NCO-in-charge, and UAAD coordinator.

The event will offer free burgers, beverages and live entertainment for unaccompanied military members E-4 and below. There will also be a dunk tank, dodge ball tournament and a jail and bail for Airmen to get a little 'payback' on leadership.

Unaccompanied Airmen attending the event will be released at noon, leaving their supervisors behind to do all the work while they enjoy the festivities.

"The event gives back to our most precious resources -- our Airmen," said Samavarchian.

The UAAD will take place Aug. 12 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Bob Hope Community Center parking lot. For more information, contact any unit first sergeant.
