PLAYpass program offers help to single Airmen, families of deployed members Published June 28, 2011 By Senior Airman Tabitha M. Lee 100th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs RAF MILDENHALL, England -- Families of deployed Airmen and single Airmen who have just recently returned from deployment, now have the opportunity to get assistance in the form of special discounts at 100th Force Support Squadron facilities. The new PLAYpass program replaces the DePLAYment program offered during the Year of the Air Force Family. "The program is based on discount cards that provide members and their eligible family members the opportunity to participate in Air Force FSS programs for free, or at a reduced cost," said Sharon Rector, 100th FSS caring for people coordinator. The PLAYpass program is open to all eligible single Airmen and families who fall within the deployment eligibility time-frame. A deployment is described as TDY for 30 days or more, or 365-PCS in support of an active operation and documented on official orders. "Some eligible members are Air Force active duty members with qualified family members, single Airmen upon returning from deployment, Air Force Wounded Warrior members with or without qualified family members, and family members of fallen warriors with Department of Defense identification cards," said Mrs. Rector. The passes are good for 90 days after return of Service member or Dec. 31, 2011, whichever comes first. Due to limited funding the program may be canceled at any time. PLAYpass cards can be picked up at the Airman and Family Readiness Center in Building 460. "All participants have to do is have a copy of the orders and their ID card," said Mrs. Rector. "The process takes about 5 to 7 minutes." Informative briefings will be held at the Bob Hope Community center on July 5, Aug. 2, Sept. 6, Oct. 4, Nov. 1 and Dec. 6, at 4 p.m. to discuss getting the most out of your PLAYpass.
