RAF Feltwell to host Fourth of July events Published June 23, 2011 By Staff Reports 48th Fighter Wing Public Affairs RAF LAKENHEATH, England -- RAFs Lakenheath and Mildenhall will host a Fourth of July celebration for the local community at RAF Feltwell. Gates will open to the public at noon and close after the fireworks display, which will begin at 10 p.m. Area road delays are expected due to the high number of visitors in the area. Some of the major highlights of the day will include a fireworks display, an aerial demonstration by the Red Arrows, a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the "Sally B" B-17 fly-over, as well as live entertainment from the U. S. Air Forces in Europe band, Wings of Dixie, and Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers band. Other attractions include carnival rides, game booths, a car and motorcycle show, birds of prey demonstration and American Southern barbecue. Animals, with the exception of service animals, will not be allowed into the festival area. For security reasons, all items brought into the festival area will be searched before the owner can proceed past the entry point. Only hand-carried items such as purses, baby bags and lawn chairs are authorized The following items are not authorized on RAF Feltwell: · All liquids (gels and aerosols must be in three-ounce or smaller containers) · Coolers · Duffle bags, back packs and other large hand-carried items · Weapons (including knives, firearms, objects that fire a projectile that can potentially injure someone and blunt force objects) · Drugs/drug paraphernalia · Potential explosive material · Protest paraphernalia (including banners, spray paint, locks, chains, handcuffs, fence cutting tools and bullhorns) Please note: This is not an all inclusive list. The 48th Security Forces Squadron and Ministry of Defence Police may restrict items not conducive to safety, security and public order.
