PA looking for shops to offer "challenge," highlight their workcenter Published May 25, 2011 By Karen Abeyasekere 100th air Refueling Wing Public Affairs RAF MILDENHALL, England -- Over the last couple of years I've done a series of articles called, "Karen A. picks up the gauntlet..." which have given me the chance to experience other people's jobs and then the little-known parts of them. By doing this, it gives the 100th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs Office the opportunity to show RAF Mildenhall's personnel and the work they do, written from a slightly different perspective than usual. So far, I've been able to wear the bite suit with the military working dogs, train with the firefighters at the live fire training area, have a go at bird control with the birds of prey, marshal an aircraft and fly the simulator. Now I'm looking for new, undiscovered areas, so invite workcenters and squadrons to offer me a "challenge" from the work they do. I will consider most things (apart from fitness classes!), but the more different and daring, the better! Suggestions from workcenters would have to then be approved, with the assistance of PA, by the relevant squadron commander, giving me permission to do whatever the challenge is, but once we have that we can go ahead and set things up. Of course, all safety concerns will be addressed, so don't let this deter you from sending suggestions!
