After months of anticipation, the 100th Air Refueling Wing has completed the U.S. Air Forces in Europe Inspector General unit compliance inspection May 21, and the results have been tallied.

The 100th ARW was judged on a three-tier rating scale from May 16 to 21 and compared to established Air Force requirements. In doing so, the wing overall garnered the highest rating of "In-Compliance."

"This confirmed all of my expectations," said Col. Chad Manske, 100th ARW commander. "The [inspection] team identified many benchmark programs and strengths. This truly validated all the awards everyone has earned from USAFE and above."

The inspection team recognized several individual members and teams from the 100th ARW that performed above and beyond the requirements. The USAFE IG Award of Excellence for exceptional performance was presented to:

Master Sgt. Matthew Ruch, 100th Operations Support Squadron Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape
Staff Sgt. Joseph Barba, 100th Maintenance Group
Steve Perry, 100th Civil Engineer Squadron
100th Operations Group Intelligence Flight
100th Security Forces Squadron Orders Group
100th CES Waters and Fuels Maintenance Section

"All of the effort that went into these programs needs to continue," said Col. Robert Suminsby, inspection team lead. "We're here to say 'Here are some weak areas, and here are some areas that work really well.' This is a tool for supervisors."

The 100th ARW was evaluated on several "command interest items" and specialty areas, which were broken down into subcategories. Of these, 22 received the rating In-Compliance, 6 were declared "In-Compliance with Comments" and none were marked as "Non-Compliant." One CII, evaluated on "Satisfactory" or "Un-Satisfactory," was graded as Satisfactory.
