The U.S. Embassy in London, 3rd Air Force and RAF Mildenhall have scheduled the annual Madingley American Cemetery Memorial Service May 30 at 11 a.m. in Cambridge.

The event honors the memory of more than 400,000 American World War II Service members, who gave their life to achieve victory in Europe against Germany, Italy and Japan (the Axis powers). More than 1,000 people are expected to attend the event, which will include a wreath-laying ceremony and aircraft fly-overs.

The event is open to Service members, their families and civilians. The uniform of the day for formation participants is service dress.

Due to force protection concerns, a bus service won't be available for this year's service.

The post code for Madingley American Cemetery, Cambridge, is CB23 7PH.
