'Self-help guru' set to speak at RAF Mildenhall Published Feb. 14, 2011 By Staff Reports 100th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs RAF MILDENHALL, England -- Dr. Nathaniel Williams, former orphan and foster child, now a Doctor of Education and author, will be giving Airmen base-wide the opportunity to hear about his life when he speaks at the Galaxy Club Feb. 17 at noon. Doors open at 11 a.m. Dr. Williams was just 5 years old when he and his 11 siblings lost their mother. They were in foster care in New York City until he was 18, and the experience had a profound effect on both his personal and professional life. As an adult, he has worked continuously to provide options and opportunities to others that he and his brothers and sisters didn't have when they were in the foster care system. Since 1993, Dr. Williams has been the president and chief executive officer of a group of nine corporations focused on human services. The corporations provide many things, including group homes, foster care and life sharing, and leisure and recreation excursions. According to his biography, he is interested in the area of personal and professional development, and is committed to helping others realize their full potential. He devotes much time and energy providing training and workshops for employees and community members in areas such as stress and time management, conflict avoidance and resolution, and customer service and loyalty. Dr. Williams is the author several books, including self-help books. This free event is open to all base ID card holders.
