The 100th Force Support Squadron is kicking off Fitness Boot Camp to help improve the overall health of Team Mildenhall.

"The course is designed to improve work capacity, stamina, muscular endurance and strength, and flexibility," said Master Sgt. Bonnie Gribble, 100th FSS fitness director.

It will include intense interval workouts that combine cardiovascular resistance, weights, endurance, flexibility and sport training in a group setting.

"The program will focus on safety and includes a warm up, conditioning and post-aerobic and flexibility cool down in each session," said Tyronne Grissett, 100th FSS fitness center assistant director.

The boot camp is a six-week program where participants work out one hour, four days a week. Each workout will vary to ensure no one body part is over trained.

"Each workout will be focused around movements that mimic things we do in our daily lives and can be scaled for any fitness level," said Sergeant Gribble.

For active duty members, it's recommended they provide scores from the last physical fitness assessment on the first day of the program. At the end of the boot camp, the active duty member will do a base line FA to gauge fitness improvement from participating in the program.

"Registration is Jan. 25 through 29 and the program will run Jan. 31 through March 11," said Mr. Grissett. "The boot camp is open to all ID card holders 18 years and older."

To register, individuals should visit the Hardstand or Northside Fitness Centers and fill out a lifestyle assessment and a health questionairre. Participants will also be weighed and have their abdominal circumference and body mass index measured.
