Ely Cathedral to hold annual Thanksgiving Eve service Published Nov. 16, 2010 By Staff Reports 100th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs RAF MILDENHALL, England -- The annual RAFs Mildenhall and Lakenheath Thanksgiving Eve service is scheduled for Nov. 24, at Ely Cathedral. This year's speaker is Maj. Gen. Mark Zamzow, 3rd Air Force vice commander. The evening will begin with a pre-service organ recital at 7 p.m. At the end of the service there will be a pie social. Anyone wishing to donate a pie for this should drop it off before noon Nov. 24 at either of the RAFs Mildenhall or Lakenheath chapels. Two buses will run to Ely Cathedral from both chapels, leaving base at 6 p.m. Please note, both buses from RAF Lakenheath have seatbelts, so children can ride on either. However, only one bus from RAF Mildenhall has seatbelts, so children can only ride on that particular one. Once all seats are taken, people will have to make their own way to Ely Cathedral as no children will be allowed on the second bus. No other transportation will be provided by the base. Those attending the service are advised to dress warmly as it will be cold inside the cathedral. For force protection, dress is civilian clothes. However, group commanders, vice commanders, command chiefs and participants will be in service dress. Editor's note: Information provided by the 100th Air Refueling Wing Chapel
