Members of the 352nd Special Operations Group received an "ultimate" experience, Oct. 14, when three professional mixed martial artists made an appearance at the group.

Matt Mitrione, Ryan Bader, and Aaron Wilkinson, all participants in the increasingly popular sport of mixed martial arts, made a short detour on their way to an event in London to show their appreciation for the military family.

"It was a great experience being able to come and see some of the things that our military members are doing," said Mr. Mitrione. "I learned a lot and had a great time!"
352nd SOG leadership welcomed the MMA fighters with a mission brief highlighting the unique capabilities of special operations and the 100th Air Refueling Wing. Next, they were given the opportunity to fly a KC-135 Stratotanker flight simulator. The visit concluded with static displays by several key components of the 352nd SOG, including medical, special tactics, aircrew flight equipment, and security forces.

For some, the excitement of meeting the people whose careers they have followed closely on television was almost too much to bear.

"I couldn't believe I was actually getting to meet these people," said Capt. Joshua Hiam, 100th ARW. "I'm a huge fan of mixed martial arts, so to have them here and have the opportunity to interact with them is unbelievable!"

The MMA fighters held a short autograph-signing session for their fans before heading back to London.
