Team Mildenhall to observe Halloween Oct. 31 Published Oct. 19, 2010 By Tech. Sgt. Joe B. Hayes 100th Security Forces Squadron, Police Services NCOIC RAF MILDENHALL, England -- Team Mildenhall will observe Halloween Oct. 31, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. During that time, 100th Security Forces Airmen will be part of Operation Pumpkin Patrol and will "walk the beat" through officer and enlisted housing. All Security Forces personnel will wear reflective vests or belts and carry flashlights. Enlisted and officer housing areas will be the primary locations for Trick or Treating this year. Those not participating in Trick or Treat activities, are advised to turn their front porch lights off. The Police Services office urges parents to have children look for security forces, should they need assistance. As a reminder, young children should always have adult supervision as the spontaneity of youth can quickly lead to an accident or injury. The following guidelines are provided to assist in a safe and happy Halloween: Wear bright colored or reflective clothing. Carry flashlight or Glow Wands. A Parent or responsible adult need to inspect all treats prior to eating. A good rule is, "When in doubt, throw it out." For maximum visibility, cross streets at designated areas where there is good lighting. Your children can also ask the Security Forces to escort them across the streets. Encourage parents to educate children on "stranger danger": Say No! Walk or run away! Go tell someone they trust! If an incident does occur, report it to the Security Forces immediately at DSN 238-2667. The 727th AMC Passenger Terminal is available to X-ray candy prior to consumption from 6 to 9 p.m. The point of contact is the On-Duty Supervisor who can be reached at DSN 238-7420. Editor's note: For more information about this event, contact Police Services at DSN 238-6288.
