The Commander of Special Operations Command Europe, Army Maj. Gen. Michael Repass, visited with the Joint Special Operations Air Component - Europe and the Air Commandos of the 352nd Special Operations Group here, Aug. 24.

General Repass was one month into his tour as commander of SOCEUR, which exercises operational control of the JSOAC-E and 352nd SOG, so he felt it was important to visit with its special operators.

The trip kicked off with the 352nd SOG and JSOAC-E senior leadership briefing their units' missions, capabilities, and issues to General Repass and SOCEUR's senior enlisted advisor, Command Sergeant Major Charles Sekelsky.

That meeting was followed by a short tour of the 352nd SOG's subordinate units to see the people responsible for providing special operations airpower to U.S. European Command. General Repass, and Command Sgt. Maj. Sekelsky met with Air Commandos from all five squadrons within the 352nd SOG, as well as members of Detachment 2, 25th Intelligence Squadron and the JSOAC-E.

The JSOAC-E and 352nd SOG form the air component of SOCEUR, providing the only Air Force special operations forces in EUCOM.
