Community Awareness bulletin: Protestor activity in response to burning of Qurans Published Sept. 10, 2010 100th Force Protection Antiterrorism Office RAF MILDENHALL, England -- This bulletin should not be viewed as a travel restriction and is effective Sept. 10 through 12. A radical Islamic activist and lawyer in the U.K. has called on Muslims worldwide to burn U.S. flags outside American embassies on Sept. 11, a "direct retaliation" against a Florida church's plan to burn Qurans on the same day. We do not anticipate any demonstrations in the Tri-Base area, but spontaneous demonstrations are possible. We anticipate the demonstrations will be loud and disruptive, but well-policed. We remind 100th ARW personnel and their families that demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and sometimes escalate into violence.
