Reminder: Road closes Monday Published Aug. 23, 2010 By Geoff Janes 100th Air Refueling Wing Public Affairs RAF MILDENHALL, England -- Those working at RAF Mildenhall but living in Lakenheath will find themselves taking the long way home Sept. 5. The C602, or Eriswell Road will be closed from Hollywell Row to the T-junction will be closed for resurfacing work until Sept. 10. According to Sq. Ldr. Rick Fryer, RAF Mildenhall commander, the official alternative route, which will be sign-posted, is via Mildenhall and the five-ways roundabout. There are other routes available (see graphic). Some school bus schedules will also be affected. The road closure will affect 19 school buses, 12 at RAF Lakenheath and seven at RAF Feltwell. The stop times for pick-up in the morning should not be effected but the arrival time at the school will be delayed from 10 to 15 minutes. The arrival times on the afternoon return runs, at the stops, will also run 10 to 15 minutes late. All principals are aware and no one should be counted tardy if on one of these buses. Pick up and drop off bus times remain the same. Closure is slated from Sept. 5 at 7 a.m through Sept. 10, although the road will reopen early if work is completed prior to that date.
