Women's Equality Day observance slated for Aug. 26

RAF MILDENHALL, England -- Five Airmen in period dress depicting famous women will be spreading the word about women's equality at three locations here Thursday.

The Airmen will portray Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Mary Church Terrell, Sojourner Truth and Esther Blake at the Hardstand Fitness Center, the post office and the BX-tra food court.

The purpose of the RAF Mildenhall Women's Suffrage Road Show is to discuss the challenges the women faced and overcame and show how their efforts contributed to the movement that cultivated in the signing of the 19th Amendment to the constitution.

Times are as follows:

Hardstand Fitness Center -- 10:30 to 11 a.m.
Post Office -- 11:15 to 11:45 a.m.
BX-tra food court -- 12 to 12:30 p.m.
