Airmen who were randomly selected to participate in Air Force Headquarters' Air Force Personal Safety Survey must act quickly to meet the Aug. 24 deadline.

About 100,000 Airmen were e-mailed in late July to participate in the 30-day survey which aims to get a picture of the prevalence of sexual assault in the Air Force, said Kimberly Dickman, 100th Air Refueling Wing Sexual Assault Response Coordinator.

"The survey is totally anonymous," said Ms. Dickman. "When responses are submitted through the Web site, no e-mail address or personal information is connected to it."

The survey takes between seven and 15 minutes to complete. After asking about generic demographics like rank and age, questions become more focused on how sexual assaults have personally affected the surveyed Airman, said Ms. Dickman. If an Airman has never been affected by sexual assaults, then the survey will be over. Each survey is tailored to the individual.
