100th CES, 100th LRS brief wingman concept during safety stand-down event
The 100th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department performed a chip pan/grease fire demonstration May 21 at the 100th CES's portion of the 100th Air Refueling Wing Safety Stand-down event. The demonstration showed the effects of pouring water on a grease pan fire, rather than putting it out safely. If a chip pan/grease pan catches fire, cover it in a damp, wrung-out towel or dry fire blanket, then call the fire department (911 if on base, or 999 if off base). The Air Force Chief of Staff, Gen. Norton Schwartz, identified May as an opportunity to reemphasize the importance of the wingman concept among our Airmen, and to address a recent rise in Air Force suicides and motor vehicle mishaps.
