"RAFM, Healthy & Fit For Life" is a newly launched 100th Force Support Squadron education and awareness campaign designed to promote nutrition and healthy eating choices provided by 100th FSS food operations.

The base-wide initiative is the vision of Col. Chad Manske, 100th Air Refueling Wing commander, whose goal is to "incorporate standardized labeling and calorie counts" into all FSS food operations. The program launched in May as a part of National Fitness Month and 100th FSS Fitness Center activities.

RAF Mildenhall Fitness Centers are essential program partners to help promote the balance between personal health, nutrition, and fitness, which are key elements of the program objective to build a healthier and more fit Air Force for life.

"This is a 100th FSS quality of life initiative to assist Airmen, families, and the Team Mildenhall community to meet their personal health and fitness goals by incorporating nutritional information and education materials throughout all FSS food service operations," said Maj. Kenneth Dewlen, 100th FSS commander.

Soon, customers will be able to look for a green check mark to identify healthy choices on FSS dining menus.

A complete menu redesign, including nutrition labeling, and complete calorie, cholesterol, fat, and sodium content of each menu item, will become standard displays at dining facilities and FSS food operations.

Customers of the dining facilities can also look for the "Nutrition, Performance, Readiness" pyramid alongside the campaign logo. The program is the first in USAFE and has the potential to be adopted Air Force-wide.
