An informative and interactive performance is scheduled to be provided at the Hardstand Fitness Center to raise awareness on sexual assault issues.

The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. March 31 and at 8:30 a.m. April 1. It is mandatory for airmen basic through senior airmen, said Rebekah Downs, RAF Mildenhall Sexual Assault Response Coordinator.

"The performance highlights safe dating habits and the importance of respect and communication in a relationship," said Ms. Downs. "The performance encourages audience participation to spark interest."

Mike Domitrz, a motivational speaker, conducts the one-hour program with a setting that resembles a combination of a play and seminar.

"Hopefully, we will make people aware of what consent is," said Ms. Downs. "Consent is central to any relationship, but especially so for intimate issues. Airmen must ask for something before proceeding, to ensure they have permission."

Editor's note: A similar performance is scheduled to be provided to students and parents at RAF Lakenheath. High school students may attend the presentation in their auditorium March 31 at 12:30 p.m. A performance geared for students in middle and high school for school year 2010 to 2011, and their parents, will be held in the high school auditorium at 6 p.m. Mature middle school students may accompany parents, but the subject matter may be graphic in nature.
