In light of the goal day Feb. 8, Job Shadow day has been cancelled for Feb. 8, and will be rescheduled. The new date will be publicized once it has been determined.

Job Shadow day allows parents an opportunity to show their children what it's like to work for the Air Force. The program, formally known as "Bring Your Child to Work Day", is an initiative that is supported by the Air Force Military community. It serves as a way to engage students in the professional work environment.

It is designed to demonstrate a connection between academia and careers, inspire students to work hard in school to achieve future career aspirations,  introduce students to a variety of professions and industries and help them prepare to join the work force later in life.

It also builds community partnerships between schools and businesses that enhance educational experience.

Each base work center is welcome to set up their own parameters and coordinate their own students for Job Shadow Day as long as Safety is considered an even higher priority given that students will be in the work centers.

Editor's note: Parents and School Officials are welcome to contact the School Liaison Office if you require assistance in placing students in work centers of their students' interests. For more details, contact the School Liaison Office at DSN 226-5077, 226-5078 or by e-mail at 48MSG.CCL@lakenheath.af.mil.
