In an effort to better accommodate shift workers, the Hardstand Fitness Center has extended its hours during the regular work week, effective immediately.

According to Daniel Torres, Hardstand Fitness Center staff, the gym will remain open until midnight Monday through Thursday - two hours later than before the change - but will still close at 9 p.m. Fridays. The fitness center will continue to open at 5 a.m., and will still be closed weekends and holidays.

Everything gym patrons have become used to on the previous schedule, such as equipment checkout, saunas and front-desk support, will still be available.

Mrs. Torres said while there are no plans for a scheduled switch back to the old hours, the new schedule will undergo a several-month evaluation period before it is considered permanent. The change only applies to the Hardstand Fitness Center at this time - the Northside Fitness Center's hours have not changed.
