The 100th Logistics Readiness Squadron strolled into the intramural soccer championship under the brim of Ray Wisdom's hat trick against 100th Communications Squadron in a 4-1 match at the Hardstand Fitness Center Nov. 17.

The two teams squared off equally at the center circle, producing an uneventful first half of play to kick off the intramural semi-finals. But things quickly ignited after the second-half whistle sounded.

The first successful aggressive move from either team was a 100th LRS goal by Kibrom Retta against 100th CS keeper Dana Gold. This triggered positive momentum for the team who went on the offense.

A shot from Wisdom looked like a sure thing but ricocheted off the post. He made up for the blunder within minutes with his first of three consecutive goals to claim the hat trick.

Although they were down by four goals, Gold pushed his team to continue on and, in the final seconds of play, Nathanial Goodman tacked on 100th CS' sole point to prevent a shutout.

The 100th LRS now awaits the name of their competitors.

The 100th Force Support Squadron and 488th Intelligence Squadron/95th Reconaissance Squadron teams square off Nov. 18 at the field to find the second championship contender.

The championship bout will be held at the field Nov. 19 at noon.
