The 100th Air Refueling Wing Safety Office proved they live up to the motto of 'Safety first,' when they recently earned six first-place U.S. Air Forces in Europe 2009 safety awards.

Tech. Sgt. Joshua Franklin won USAFE's Safety Career Professional of the Year (Technician) Award; the 100th ARW Ground Safety Office took the USAFE Ground Safety Outstanding Achievement Award (Category III), and the flight safety office earned the USAFE Flight Safety Achievement Award (Mobility Air Forces Wing).

As if that weren't enough glory, RAF Mildenhall's safety office - a team of 10 safety professionals, within the three divisions - also won the USAFE Ground Safety Plaque, the USAFE Flight Safety Plaque and the USAFE Explosive Safety Plaque.

"These awards reflect the tremendous effort the 100th ARW safety team exerts each and every day, to assist Team Mildenhall in the safe accomplishment of their missions," said Lt. Col. Thomas Torkelson, 100th ARW chief of safety.

"It's a testament to the hard work of Team Mildenhall and the 100th ARW safety team of professionals when award packages like these write themselves and MAJCOM recognition follows. This is a Team to be proud of - I'm grateful to be part of it," he said.
