The 100th Logistics Readiness Squadron won the intramural base soccer championships 2-0 against the 488th Intelligence Squadron/95th Reconnaissance Squadron on a very blustery pitch at the Hardstand Fitness Center Nov. 19.

The game started with the 100th LRS playing slightly against the wind and immediately set about trying to play their passing game. Sean Behringer, looked lively in midfield and eager to set up LRS's attacks. It was no surprise when LRS took the lead.

Behringer received a square pass from Ray Wisdom and struck a sweet left foot shot which went in off the post for the opening goal. The half finished with 488th IS/95th RS offering very little upfront and happy to go in half-time just one goal down.

Second half started pretty much the same as the first with LRS creating most of the chances. Wisdom, the hat-trick hero from the day before, missed two chances in quick succession. The 488th IS/95th RS were struggling and seem to be a little flat, maybe the day's previous game had taken its toll. With five minutes to go, LRS added a second when Kibrom Retta managed to squeeze the ball between the goalie's legs, and kill off any chance of a 488th IS/95th RS comeback.

Wisdom, coach for the base soccer champions said, "We pretty much controlled the whole game," and who would argue with that. So congratulations to the 100th Logistics Readiness Squadron who were worthy winners.
