The 488th Intelligence Squadron/95th Reconnaissance Squadron move into the semi-finals of the intramural soccer championship with an extra-time goal to give them a narrow victory over the 727th Air Mobility Squadron by four goals to three, at the Hardstand Fitness Center Nov. 17.

After both teams tied 3-3, goals from Pete Webb (2) and another from Mark Czerwonka for 727th AMS and goals by Steve Alverson (2) and Shawn Merritt took the game into extra time. The 727th AMS pressed hard to find a winner, but due to some poor finishing and good goalkeeping from the 488th IS/95th RS, failed to find the back of the net.

With time running out it was left to a cool head from Daniel Acosta for the 488th IS/95th RS to slot the ball past Nick Smith to score and send his team into the semi-finals. The 488th IS/95th RS will now play 100th Force Support Squadron who topped the league standings on Nov. 18.
